About Nayal

   Nayal grew up in a small village located in the Yamkeshwar block of Pauri, Uttarakhand. He obtained his Master of Science in Organic Chemistry from Garhwal University in 2011. Subsequently, he completed his Doctor of Philosophy in Synthetic Organic Chemistry at the CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh, in 2018. His doctoral research concentrated on catalysis and organic synthesis under the guidance of the late Neeraj Kumar and Maurya.
     Following the attainment of his doctorate, Nayal joined Professor F. Mo's laboratory at Peking University as a Boya postdoctoral fellow. His research there focused on the utilization and activation of carbon dioxide molecules as a source of C1 compounds for diverse organic transformations. He then transitioned to Kwon's Laboratory at Seoul National University as a Rising Star Postdoctoral Fellow, where he further developed his expertise in the design and synthesis of polymers and materials derived from carbon dioxide.
     In 2022, Nayal commenced a postdoctoral fellowship at the Derek A. Pratt Laboratory (The Pratt Group) at the University of Ottawa. During this period, he cultivated proficiency in the design and synthesis of novel radical trapping agents aimed at inhibiting the autoxidation of hydrocarbons.
      In 2024, Nayal assumed the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Amity University. Since that time, he has concentrated his research endeavors on the activation of small molecules, investigating their potential in the synthesis of biologically active pharmaceutical compounds, and innovatively designing polymers and materials.
